Looked down through clouds poem

[The first four words are from Thin Ice by Gary Snyder.]

Looked down through clouds and saw my veins.

Saw the sharp points of my knuckles and wrist bone,

the smooth indent where my thumb ends and my arm begins.

Saw the long, thin bones of my hand cut through the landscape,

saw how well it all fit together,

and almost convinced myself I was that beautiful.
